FAQs

What is unique about Houston Pediatric Endocrinology?

Houston Pediatric Endocrinology provides a personalized approach to each patient. We take the time to know, understand and care for your child’s condition.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. We are a fee for service and fee is due at the time of service. By not taking insurance, we are not bound by constraints insurance companies impose on the quality of care. We spend the time needed to understand your child’s needs and we believe in educating parents and patients about their condition. We never rush you out of a visit. Not accepting insurance also helps us to be able to see you quickly. Our average wait time for an appointment is one week or less.

We use your insurance for labs, imaging and medications.

What is your fee?

Our fee structure is different for pediatric endocrine vs weight management. We can provide you with details when you make the appointment.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, we do offer telehealth services as long as you are a resident of Texas. Out of state patients need to be seen in-person.

Do you prescribe anti-obesity medicine in pediatric patients?

Dr. Suresh is both a Pediatric Endocrinologist and a diplomate of American Board of Obesity. She is an expert in pediatric weight management. She prescribes anti-obesity medicines on a case per basis and also provides an intense 12-week weight management program for pediatric patients.

Do you prescribe growth hormone?

We evaluate patients with short stature, all our treatment decisions are based on Pediatric Endocrine Society guidelines. We follow FDA approved indications for growth hormone treatment.
